LAHORE, Oct 3: Oil-tanker operators in Punjab on Monday continued their strike against diesel price hike. Pakistan Oil-Tankers Associ-ation chairman Habibullah said all 25,000 tankers transporting oil from Mahmoodkot to different parts of the province were on strike. He said the tanker operators had been constrained to proceed on strike because they could not continue operations after purchasing diesel at high rates.

He said the oil-tanker operators wanted withdrawal of increase in diesel price, and an assurance that the price would not be increased in future. He said the tanker operators from other parts of the country would also join the strike in case the demand for a cut in diesel price was not accepted. — Reporter
