RAWALPINDI: As many as 34 Pakistanis — out of 50 that were scheduled to be deported from Bangkok - arrived at Islamabad International Airport (IIA) on Friday night.

They reason for their deportation is overstay and visa expiration while the remaining persons will be brought back after completion of their travel documents.

They were all allowed to leave for their residences after their travel documents were verified by airport officials; one of the deportees, wanted by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Karachi, was taken into custody as her name had been placed on the exit control list (ECL) for being wanted in four different cases. She will be shifted to FIA Karachi soon.

According to a spokesman from Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), the deportees were brought back via flight PK-895 and were allowed to go home because none of them had left Pakistan illegally; all of them travelled on emergency passports and the rest will be brought back after completion of their travel documents.
