GUJRANWALA, Oct 3: Passengers of two buses were robbed of their valuables while of the third one escaped when the panic stricken highwaymen escaped on Monday. Police said a Hino (SGH-9655) was on its way to Gujrat from Lahore. Four outlaws boarded on it from Rawalpindi bypass intersection in the guise of passengers.

Near Ghakkhar, they took out arms and deprived the passengers of cash, gold jewellery and escaped near Wazirabad, they added. However, police arrested bus driver Amjad Iqbal and conductor Ahmad Ali and registered a case against them instead of tracing the robbers.

A coaster (PS-0054) was going to Gujrat from Lahore. Near Dhaunkel, four bandits who were travelling as passengers whipped their arms and snatched cash, and valuables from the passengers.

In the third incident, the passengers of a Lahore-bound bus were deprived of valuables by four robbers. They escaped when motorway police intercepted the bus for checking near Muridke. However, the bag containing booty fell on the ground when the robbers took to heels in panic. The police later returned it to passengers and informed the higher authorities.
