Hand sanitising dispensers installed at airport

RAWALPINDI: The Aviation Division has placed hand sanitising dispensers at Islamabad International Airport.

According to the Aviation Division spokesman, automatic dispensers have been installed at the departure lounge as part of preventive measures against the second wave of covid-19.

The Islamabad International Airport authorities have been taking all possible measures to clean and sanitise the facilities especially restrooms and common touch points like handrails, doorknobs and elevator buttons.

Two automatic liquid hand sanitising dispensers, donated by the World Health Organization (WHO) have been installed at the IIAP, though manual sanitizers have already been placed at the airport.

A senior official said the airport authorities had also covered 150 counters – including those of immigration, customs and other checks with glass as part of the preventive measures.

“We try to maintain social distancing but it seems difficult whenever more than three or four flights land at a time at the airport,” he said.

Besides, covering counters with glasses, wearing of masks had been made compulsory for immigration, security and all other officials working at the airport.
