Two members of ‘dacoit gang’ held
The Pakistan Rangers Sindh and the police on Wednesday carried out a joint intelligence-based action and arrested two suspected street criminals.
“The held suspects namely Shah Rukh and Waqar Ahmed were members of an extremely wanted dacoit group,” said a Rangers spokesperson.
They were involved in several street crimes in the metropolis. Their arrest was made with the help of CCTV footage. Waqar could be seen in CCTV footage near a bakery in Mehmoodabad in October where he snatched cash from a citizen standing there. In another footage, Shah Rukh could be seen looting car passengers at a model park in Mehmoodabad.
“Waqar Ahmed is a drug addict and deserter of the police,” said the Rangers press release.
Efforts were under way to arrest the remaining members of the gang. Later on, the held suspects were handed over to the police with the arms and ammunition seized from them for further legal action.
