Veteran PPP leader Nazim Shah dies at 80

MULTAN: Seasoned politician and former Punjab Assembly opposition leader, Syed Nazim Hussain Shah, died here on Monday after a prolonged illness. He was 80.

Mr Shah has left behind a widow, two daughters and three sons.

His funeral prayers were held at his native village of Kot Faqir Ali Shah.

Mr Shah was one of the founding members of the PPP and remained associated with the party till his last breath.

He was elected as an MPA five times, and served as provincial minister for excise and taxation in the government of Manzoor Wattoo.

Former PM Yousuf Raza Gilani and Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi expressed condolences with his family.
