Federal cabinet approves $150m for procurement of Covid-19 vaccine

The federal cabinet has approved Economic Coordination Council's recommendation to allocate $150 million to acquire a vaccine for the novel coronavirus, SAPM Dr Faisal Sultan told the media.

The vaccine, once acquired would first be administered to frontline healthcare workers, followed by elderly and high-risk patients and other healthcare professionals, who are not frontline workers.

In the third phase, the vaccine will be provided to the general public, he said.
