HYDERABAD, Jan 20: The University of Sindh awarded M.Phil and Ph.D degrees to reserch scholars of various departments at the 69th meeting of the advanced studies and research board held on Saturday.

Mohammad Amir Arain was awarded Ph.D degree in Analytical Chemistry and Syed Ibrar Ali in Islamic Culture, while Feroza Zafar was awarded M.Phil degree in Bio-Chemistry and Kulsoom Abbasi in Analytical Chemistry.

The meeting was presided over by the vice chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqui, and attended by the deans of the various faculties, registrar Professor Ferozuddin Kazi, senior professors and the controller of examination, University of Sindh.

The meeting discussed the agenda about the academic and research matters and highlighted the importance of the on-going research projects in different departments of the university.

It considered the requests received from the research scholars of various departments for allowing them to convert their research work from M.Phil to Ph.D and approved the topics for their M.Phil and Ph.D research in the faculties of commerce and business administration, natural sciences, social sciences and arts faculties.

The meeting also considered the requests received from the research scholars for grant of extension for submission of their research work in different disciplines of the university.
