Two found shot dead in Pindorian village

ISLAMABAD: Two persons were found dead in the rural area of the capital on Saturday, police said.

The bodies were found in a wooded area adjacent to the Pindorian village with weapons lying near them. The police reached the spot and shifted the bodies to hospital.

In-charge Homicide Unit Rural Circle Inspector Munir Ahmed told Dawn that the victims were identified as Faraz, 28, and Adeel, 22. He said a pistol and a Kalashnikov were found near the bodies.

One of the deceased persons had suffered three bullets and the other five, he said, adding the police approached the villagers to get details of the incident but they remained tight-lipped. The deceased were relatives and had a dispute over a piece of land, the inspector said. Over the dispute, two to three cases had been registered against them on the charge of murder attempts.

Sources in the police said there was tension in the village due to the dispute. On Saturday morning, the two men got engaged in a clash and were later joined by their friends and relatives.

Both the sides used weapons and resorted to firing, leaving some people injured, including Faraz and Adeel, who died on the spot. The other people then disappeared from the scene along with an injured, identified as Khurram.
