CHITRAL, Sept 30: Prime Minister’s Adviser on Women Development Nilofar Bakhtiar said on Friday that the government would soon launch a programme for the uplift of women living in backward rural areas like Chitral.
Speaking at the launching of the Rs35 million ‘Jafa kash aurat’ project here, she said the ratio of pregnancy-related deaths was very high in Chitral because of lack of education and poverty. She said a girls’ hostel would be constructed in the area.
She asked civil society and non-government organizations to help the government in its efforts for the betterment of people in rural areas.
She said 16 vocational training institutes would be established under the project.
