KARACHI, Sept 29: The candidates declared elected in the first and second phases of the local government election-2005 have no legal status as councillors until they are administered oath as members of their respective councils. As such, they are not bona-fide members of the electoral college which will elect nazims or councillors on reserved seats.

This was stated by Mohammad Siddique Rathor, Chairman of the Al-Khadim Group in a message to the Chief Election Commission.
