KARACHI: Declamation contest at DHA College

KARACHI, Sept 29: The All Karachi Bilingual Declamation Contest 2005 was held at the DHA College for Women here on Thursday. Students from various colleges and varsities of the city took part in the competition. The students spoke extempore on different topics in Urdu and English.

The chief guest on the occasion, Subhan Memon, Secretary Women Development Sindh, lauded the talent and oratory of students.

He said that students constituted the future of the country and development of communication skills was the key to success in any field of life.

In English declamation contest Semray Rehman of the St Josephs’ College secured the first position whereas Abdul Kadir of Preston University stood second while Syed Masood Hasan of the Defence Authority College for Men got third position.

In Urdu declamation, Najmus Sehar of the Sir Syed College clinched the first position while Asheer Khalid was adjudged second and Zubair Bin Junaid of the PNS Naval Academy Manora got the third position.

The coveted trophy of the contest was won by the Preston University.

DHA Director Education Brig (retd) MuzaffaruL Hasan presented a shield to the chief guest.—PPI
