MIRPURKHAS, Sept 28: Sindh Health Minister Shabbir Ahmad Qaimkhani has said that a medical college will be established and construction work will begin soon after approving the site for the college.
Speaking to reporters in Khadim Ali Shah village near here on Wednesday after visiting the proposed site for the construction of a new medical college, he said that he intended to make Mirpurkhas a city where people could get better medical facilities.
He said that the civil hospital would be upgraded and given the status of a teaching hospital, whereas Digri, Kot Ghulam Mohammad and Jhuddo taluka hospitals would be provided dialysis machines, stretchers, beds, equipment for blood banks and other instruments.
He said that the provincial government was trying its best to provide basic health facilities not only to people living in cities and but also the rural areas.
He also administrated polio drops to children.
Sindh health secretary Dr Noshad Shaikh, health services DG Dr Hadi Bux Jatoi, additional secretary health (technical) Dr Majid and EDO health Mirpurkhas Dr Hadi Bux Leghari were present also present on the occasion.
PRICES: DCO Khurshid Nadeem Malik has asked retailers to keep prices of commodities within a reasonable range during Ramzan.
Presiding over a meeting of businessmen, traders and retailers at Darbar hall on Wednesday, he asked them to avoid hoarding and resorting to price hike during Ramzan.
He announced new prices of daily commodities in consultation with retailers and traders during the meeting and it was decided that market committees of the areas would publish daily price lists of vegetable, fruits and other perishable items.
It was decided that pushcart owner and shopkeepers would fix their daily rate lists openly to keep public aware of the prices. Traders and businessmen said that they would cooperate with government and general public.
