Opposition has put govt under pressure, says JI leader

KARAK: Jamaat-i-Isalmi’s central vice-president Liaqat Baloch has said the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government is under pressure due to the opposition parties’ movement.

He stated this while addressing an oath-taking ceremony of the party’s newly-elected district president Mohammad Zahoor here on Monday.

Mr Baloch said the government had failed to translate its election campaign slogan of change into reality.

He said rising inflation and unemployment had stressed people out.

The JI leader said forced by unprecedented price hike the government employees had been protesting in Islamabad.

He said prevailing inflation was forcing people to commit suicides.

Mr Baloch said the government was under extreme pressure due to the ongoing movement launched by the opposition parties.

He said Prime Minister Imran Khan was using abusive language against the opposition in frustration.

The JI central vice-president demanded free, fair and transparent fresh elections in the country.

Mr Baloch said the JI had launched a protest movement against price hike, unemployment and law and order situation in the country.

He condemned the publication of sacrilegious sketches in France, which had hurt sentiments of Muslims across the world.

TEENAGER DIES ON ROAD: A teenage boy died after being struck by a heavy vehicle while crossing the Indus Highway in Shahidan area the other day.

Rescue 1122 personnel shifted Hasnain, 13, to the District Headquarters Hospital, Karak, but the doctors pronounced him brought dead.

Meanwhile, three persons were injured when a truck fell into a ravine in Speena Banda area on the Indus Highway.

The Rescue 1122 personnel shifted the injured to the DHQ hospital, wherefrom they were referred to a Peshawar hospital in critical condition.
