KHAIRPUR, Sept 27: The former district nazim and ADP candidate for the district nazim of Khairpur, Ms Nafisa Shah, has demanded that the third phase of local government elections in the district should be held under the supervision of army and rangers and these forces should be deployed at polling stations.
Speaking at gatherings in different towns of Thari Mirwah on Tuesday, Ms Shah said there were strong indications that ADP agents will be held hostage on the polling day following the practice of the second phase of local government elections in the district.
She apprehended that ADP councillors will also be held hostage so that they cannot cast their votes. She said that security arrangements made by the district police and the administration were unsatisfactory because.

PROBE BEGINS: On the directives of the Chief Election Commissioner, the DRO and district sessions judge of Khairpur, Ikhlaque Hussain Larik, on Tuesday conducted an inquiry into the registration of a case against the ADP taluka nazim candidate, Kotdiji, Munawar Wassan, and seven other persons.
Complainant Ghulam Ali, injured Oshaq Ali Babbar and other witnesses of the complainant’s side appeared before the court and recorded their statements. Munawar Wassan and his witnesses also recorded their statements.
