BADIN, Sept 26: PML leader Sher Jamali has announced that his brother Mohammad Hashim alias Dada Jamali would not retire from the contest for the Badin taluka nazim against the PML-nominated candidate, Syed Manan Shah.

Speaking at a press conference here on Sunday evening, he said that he had initially accepted the decision of Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim of nominating Syed Manan Shah, backed by Ali Bux Shah.

But Ali Bux Shah did not follow terms and conditions which forced him to oppose Manan Shah, he said.

Mr Jamali claimed to have support of 80 councillors out of 157 in 12 union councils of Badin district.

He said that a seven-member committee of Maulvi Abdul Sattar Chawaro, Professor Abdullah Mallah, Ali Akbar Memon, Mohammad Hanif Khaskheli, Riaz Bohar, Mohammad Essa Khore and Mohammad Hashim Jamali would adjust seats and try to get support from more councillors.

The spokesman of Ali Bux Shah told Dawn that they would not compromise with Sher Jamali as the chief minister had already announced the names for district and taluka nazims.

Jamali should support Mannan Shah, the spokesman said.—BoC
