CM opens arazi centres at BoR

LAHORE: Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on Monday inaugurated 115 arazi record centres, satellite arazi record centres and 20 mobile arazi centres during his visit to the Board of Revenue. A data-sharing agreement was also signed between federal and provincial BoRs.

Chairing a meeting to review institutional reforms and performance of the Punjab Land Record Authority, Punjab Disaster Management Authority, and Board of Revenue, the chief minister said a committee had been constituted for the restructuring of BoR field staff. He said open courts were being planned on first working day of every month to provide prompt services to the people.

Buzdar said the registry system had been computerised in 100 tehsils while arazi record services would be provided at the level of Mouza in 32 Kanoongoi through satellite arazi record centre.

Mr Buzdar said overseas arazi record centres had also been established in Pakistan embassies in the US, the UK, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE for expatriate Pakistanis.

He said a revenue academy would be established in Lahore and the shortage of revenue staff would soon be overcome.

COVID-19: The chief minister said one coronavirus patient died while 77 new cases were reported during the last 24 hours in Punjab.

In a statement, he said the number of active cases was 1,561 while 11,082 tests were conducted.

He said a nominal increase in corona patients had been witnessed during the first 12 days of October as compared to September.
