The Khyber Medical College (KMC) and its four hostels have been closed for two weeks after detection of Covid-19 among six female students.

On Saturday, the KMC administration had closed down the girls' hostel for medical students after the cases were reported, and had started screening the remaining students at three hostels for boys, testing about 500 students for the virus.

Test results are yet to arrive, but the administration has decided to also close the three hostels for boys as well the college for two weeks. Khyber Teaching Hospital will, however, remain open.
