MULTAN, Sept 25: A Bugti tribesman was attacked and injured by some unidentified assailant(s) at the busy Husain Aagahi bazaar of the city on Saturday. Reports said Liaquat Bugti was shopping in the market when he was fired at and injured. He himself reached the emergency ward of the Nishter Hospital by a rickshaw where doctors operated him. His condition was stated to be stable.

Liaquat is the son of Mir Ahmeddan Bugti, who along with tribesmen loyal to him was living a life of refuge in Multan after being expelled from native Dera Bugti some eight years ago after clashes with Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti.

The Daulat Gate police have registered a case against four people.

A few weeks ago, a Kithran tribesman of Balochistan was shot dead just outside the Nishter Hospital. The deceased was said to be a complainant in a murder case against Kithran tribe chief Sardar Abdul Rehman Khan.

His heir had got an FIR lodged against Sardar Kithran and others.
