Additional District & Sessions Judge Imran Shafi had reserved his verdict in the case which he announced on Friday and acquitted the couple.
The Chuhng police had registered a case against Dr Humaira Junaid and her husband in January 2019. The police investigation revealed that the suspects allegedly killed their domestic worker Sana, 14, with physical torture. The police had also recovered the dead body of the deceased from their house.
The doctor and her husband claimed that they found Sana dead when they returned home from their jobs. The couple said they took the maid to hospital and she died of injuries she suffered after falling from stairs.
However, the police said the couple used to torture their maid who succumbed to her injuries due to non provision of medical facility. The couple was already released on bail.
