British Prime Minister Boris Johnson says that he does not "want to return to a national lockdown" as cases surge in the United Kingdom, Reuters reported.

"We're not going back to the situation in March at the moment," Johnson said.

Meanwhile, England's Chief Medical Officer has said that Covid-19 outbreaks are accelerating quite rapidly in some areas of the UK and that the virus is growing in general across the country.
