PR decides to resume three trains

LAHORE: Pakistan Railways has decided to restore operation of its three passenger trains under public-private partnership.

According to the department, the trains that would resume operations under the PPP mode from Sept 20 and 27 include Mari Indus / Attock passenger, Jund passenger and Mehr express; 201-Up/202-Down Attock passenger train (Mari Indus to Attock City via Daudkhel, Jund, Namal and Busal) will resume operation from Sept 20.

“Similarly 203/2014 Down Jund passenger train will also start operation from Sept 20 between Jund and Attock City via Jund, Choora Sharif, Bosal and Jhalla stations,” said a spokesperson for the PR in a press release on Thursday.

The spokesperson said likewise Mehr Express (127-Up/128 Down) will resume operation from Sept 27 between Multan-Rawalpindi sections via Muzaffargarh, Layyah, Dirya Khan, Kundian and Fateh Jang.

Meanwhile, the PR administration on Thursday transferred Walton Training Academy Director General (BS-21) Zafar Zaman Ranjha and posted him as Pakistan Railways Advisory and Consultancy Service (PRACS) Managing Director. He was also assigned to look after the charge of Ministry of Railways’ secretary (railways board) and Walton Training Academy DG in addition to his duties as PRACS MD, according to a notification issued on Thursday.
