SAHIWAL, Sept 22: Four dacoits in police uniform looted a house in Chak 135/9-L on Wednesday night while the owner and his son were already in police lockup in a case. Reports said the Grain Market police had taken into custody Babar Aziz Ahmed Butt and his son Shahzad Butt in a case. On Wednesday night, four bandits wearing police uniform entered Aziz’s house for search and took away cash, ornaments and other valuables worth Rs300,000 after locking his wife Sakeena and other children in a room.
On the report of Sakeena, the Grain Market police have registered a case under Sections 392 and 109 of the PPC.
ADULTERATED SEED: The Grain Market police on Thursday recovered 262 bags of adulterated wheat seed and registered a case against Punjab Seed Corporation clerks Ashraf, Shafqat Ali and the driver.
Reports said the PSC clerks had dispatched wheat, cotton and other seeds (certified) to a dealer at Depalpur. On checking at the destination, the seeds contained abnormal quantity of earth. On complaint by one Naurezul Haq, the police have registered a case under Sections 420, 406 and 409 of the PPC against the clerks and the driver with no arrest.
GANGS SMASHED: The Sahiwal police have smashed three gangs involved in robberies and cattle theft, arrested their 14 members and recovered valuables worth Rs7.5 million from their possession.
This was claimed by District Police Officer Malik Khuda Bukhsh Awan here on Thursday.
He said the police recovered seven cars from Ghulam Husain gang, a truck and two tractors from Abdul Rehman (Maani) gang and cattle worth Rs1.15 million from Ghani gang.
The DPO gave away the recovered valuables to the owners in the presence of journalists.
