FAISALABAD, Sept 22: Four people, including a minor girl, were killed when the wall of their house collapsed owing to heavy rain at Chak 455-GB in Garh police station precinct, about 70 kilometres from here, on Thursday. Reports reaching here said the family of Muhammad Nawaz and their relatives were in their house when its wall collapsed. As a result, Sabat Ali, 24, Nawaz’s wife Manzooran Bibi, 30, six-year-old daughter Numaira and Mariam, wife of Shahadat Ali, 35, were killed.
According to the area people, the wall was built without any construction standards.
ACCIDENT: The son of a former city tehsil nazim, along with a young girl, died in an accident on the Canal Road on Thursday.
Reports said a speeding car of former union council nazim Irfan Haider Cheema, son of ex-city tehsil nazim Mumtaz Ali Cheema and brother of town nazim candidate Sajjad Haider Cheema dashed against a roadside tree.
As a result, Irfan and an unknown girl sitting on the front suffered serious wounds and died on their way to hospital. The identity of the girl could not be ascertained.
