Stay against transmission line vacated

LAHORE: Lahore High Court Chief Justice Muhammad Qasim Khan on Wednesday withdrew a stay order against operation of 132-KV transmission line installed by the Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) near Jallo Park after felling trees on the Canal Road.

As the chief justice resumed hearing of a petition by some members of the civil society, no one appeared on their behalf despite repeated calls made by the court’s staff. In previous hearings, Advocate Ahmad Rafay Alam represented the petitioners.

The Lesco counsel told the court that the report submitted by the petitioner was a secret document which was leaked to her. He said the project in-question had been completed and the only work left was to make the transmission line functional.
