KARAK: MNA Shahid Khattak inaugurated a road project to link Chokara with the Indus Highway here on Sunday and resolved to launch more uplift projects in the district.
Addressing the groundbreaking ceremony of the road project here, he claimed that a new era of development had been started in the district. He said that the road would link Chokara, Naray Khwara and other areas of Takht-i-Nusrati tehsil with the district headquarters via Indus Highway.
He said that it would be the shortest route between Takht-i-Nusrati tehsil and the Karak city. He said the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government had approved phase-I of the gas project for Karak district, Banda-Gurguri road, Rehmatabad-Surdag road and sports complex for the district. He said that several other projects were at the approval stage.
Mr Khattak said that the people voted his party to power in the last general elections and now they were seeing development in their areas. He criticised the opposition parties for their negative propaganda against development of the district. He claimed that then chief minister Akram Durrani had not initiated any uplift project in Karak during the tenure of the MMA government.
He said that under the PTI government several mega projects were underway in the district, which reflected that his party was serious about resolving basic problems of the people.
