Italy shuts discos, orders mask wearing at night in public

Italy has shut down its discotheques and ordered the wearing of masks in nighttime public spaces as it faces an uptick in coronavirus cases, according to AFP.

Health Minister Roberto Speranza signed a decree to take effect on Monday mandating mask wearing from 6pm to 6am in public areas where “formation of groups” occurs.

The new decree also suspends outdoor discotheques and nightclubs from operating.
