PESHAWAR, Sept 19: Peshawar Electricity Supply Company Chief Executive Brig Sakhi Marjan has directed all field formations to keep close liaison with elected representatives for the solution of problems related to the department.

He gave the directive during a meeting at the Khyber Circle superintending engineer’s office, which was attended by MNA Sabir Hussain Awan, MPA Ibrahim Qasmi, nazims, councillors and Pesco officials.

SE Fazl-i-Khaliq Khan briefed the elected representatives about the problems faced by Pesco and said power pilferage in the area was causing heavy losses to the company. He said Pesco was spending billions of rupees on improvement of its system.

Pesco had constructed new grid Stations, laid transmission lines and installed feeders and transformers at various grid stations, he said.

He said Pesco’s deficit was increasing because of power pilferage, resulting in inconvenience to the masses and damage to installations.

He asked the elected representatives to help improve the situation. The elected representative assured Pesco authorities of their support and cooperation and gave proposals for the eradication of power pilferage.—APP
