ISLAMABAD: As many as 47 positive Covid-19 cases were reported in the capital in the last two days.

Officials of the capital administration stated that on Monday 20 people tested positive and 27 others had been found infected with the virus on Sunday.

Out of the 20 cases on Monday, three were reported from I-8 followed by two each from G-9, F-6, F-11, one each from Tarnol, Tarlai, Taramri, Soan Garden, Sihala, Shahzad Town, National Police Foundation, I-9, I-10, G-13, and F-10.

Four cases were reported from Bhara Kahu, three from Jinnah Avenue, two each from Tarlai, Khanna, G-8, G-6, E-11, Bahria Town, one each from I-8, I-10, G-7, G-5, G-15, F-7, F-1 and DHA on Sunday.

Rawalpindi

Two patients tested positive on Monday and 17 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery.

With the arrival of the new patients, the number of confirmed cases in the district increased to 6,578 while 277 people died and 6,153 others were discharged from four hospitals. However, 148 suspected patients are waiting for their results from laboratories.

Besides, 148 confirmed patients are under treatment, including 108 at Rawalpindi Institute of Urology, Holy Family Hospital, Benazir Bhutto Hospital and District Headquarters Hospital. Officials said 40 patients were isolated in their homes.

The local administrations also keep 6,795 people on quarantine who had been close contacts of the confirmed patients. As many as 10 District Health Authority teams have been deployed to check the patients isolated in 55 houses.
