No ban on opening of public parks, says Sindh govt

The Sindh government has stated that there is no ban on the opening of public parks, including neighbourhood parks, public gardens and walking tracks.

In a notification dated July 21, the provincial home department said these may remain open if they follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for curbing the spread of the coronavirus.

"The confusion appears to have cropped up because the [lockdown order] mentions a ban on the opening of theme/amusement parks, arcades, which include water parks, facilities/spaces with rides, games etc which are to remain closed," it said.

"It is, however, reiterated that the management of the park/organisation [...] is to ensure that persons entering the park observe SOPs issued for Covid-19 prevention and that no crowding takes place," it concluded.
