PESHAWAR, Sept 16: PCB chairman Shahrayar M. Khan said that some countries were not willing to play Test or One-dayers at Peshawar and this was the reason that Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium was not allotted any match.

He said PCB cannot do much against those countries who were not keen to play in Peshawar as it was the decision of their governments and not the cricket boards.

PCB chief is here to take necessary measures to improve ground conditions and available playing facilities in the province.

He, however, admitted that there was abundant talent in the province which is clearly reflected by the number of players belonging to this region in the national team.

“I am scheduled to meet with Peshawar team players, who had last year won Quaid-i-Azam Grade-1 trophy and would hold a dinner in honour of Government High School Nanakpura cricket team, which recently won the school level championship at national level”, he added.

The PCB chief visited the cricket grounds of Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Kohat District Cricket Association and also held brief meetings with the concerned cricket officials.

Later in the day he also visited Kohat Cricket Ground and chaired a meeting with local district officials.
