Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health Dr Zafar Mirza said that the government is committed to bringing fundamental health reforms by introducing universal health coverage in the country, according to Radio Pakistan.

In a statement, he said that the government has been able to contain the Covid-19 pandemic by taking timely decisions, enforcing 'smart lockdowns', implementing SOPs and enforcing the trace, test and quarantine strategy.

The PM's aide added that the government was fully aware of the problems being faced by the health sector and working hard to fix them.
