[Meanwhile, as reported by our correspondent in Sukkur,] Air Marshal (Retired) Asghar Khan today [July 17] demanded postponement of elections for a month or two. He said all the political parties are unanimous on the point that the month of October was not suitable for elections, especially in East Pakistan.
He was talking to newsmen at Guddu House after his arrival from Karachi. He said the people of East Pakistan are not “wholly justified in blaming West Pakistan for all injustices”. He said that unity between the people of East and West Pakistan was a “must for the solidarity and prosperity of the country”.
