KARACHI, Sept 16: Mumtaz Hameed, Adviser to Chief Minister, has directed concerned officials to remove hurdles that were resulting in delay of construction of the Garden-Bara Board Road.
He issued these directives while presiding over a meeting on Friday with the concerned officials to review progress on the project.
The advisor expressed his dissatisfaction over the pace of work on the project and asked officials about the reasons of delay in the road’s completion.
The District Officer, Mehmood Baloch, said that cable wires of the KESC lying around the road were the main hurdles in smooth continuation of work on the project.
Speaking of accumulation of rainwater, he said sewerage lines had become chocked and sewerage water had accumulated on roads due to the recent rains and illegal water lines.
The DO said that it was found during inspection that an eight-inch dia water supply line was illegally laid during the night time.
All concerned officials have been directed to remove all hurdles by Sept 30 so that work on the project could be completed in time.—APP/PPI
