KARACHI, Sept 13: The central admission committee for colleges on Tuesday released another list of 5,303 women candidates found suitable for admission on the basis of merit to pre-engineering group at 43 government colleges and higher secondary schools.
According to Prof Rais Alvi, the executive district officer (Higher Education) of the city government, the students placed for admission carried marks ranging from 324 to 798. Those who could not be selected for general group (computer science) classes have also been included in the pre-engineering list, he mentioned.
Prof Alvi said that students not satisfied with their placement could collect and submit claim forms from 13 branches of HBL, like Clifton, Drigh Colony No-1, Garden, Gulistan-i-Jauher, Hasan Square, Korangi No-4, Malir City, New Karachi, Orangi Town, Rizvia Society, Mansfield Street, Sakhi Hasan and Sher Shah. Selected students have been advised to finalized admission within seven days.
Admission data gave to understand that the number of students placed in the engineering faculty has decreased this year from 5,900 to 5,303, while cut-off marks in the placement lists for different colleges has increased slightly.
