Sindh transport minister Awais Qadir Shah said that transporters and the public were not following standard operating procedures (SOPs) for curbing the spread of the coronavirus.

In a statement, he said: "The provincial transport department is considering taking serious measures against violators. We have fined buses, coaches for flouting the government's guidelines.

"If SOPs are not followed, then we might consider shutting down transport services," he warned.
