Islamabad has reported its highest single day rise in cases after 656 new coronavirus cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours. This has taken its tally to 4,979, according to the government's Covid-19 portal.

Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir have each recorded 30 new cases, taking their tallies to 927 and 361, respectively.

Islamabad has also reported four more deaths from the virus, taking the total number of fatalities in the capital to 49.
