Three opinion polls released in Britain show support falling for Prime Minister Boris Johnson's Conservative Party, as public confidence in the government's handling of the coronavirus pandemic declines.

However, the figures are unlikely to be an immediate concern for Johnson, who does not need to hold an election until 2024 after winning a comfortable parliamentary majority in December.

The sharpest swing came in a poll conducted by Survation on June 3, which had support for the Conservatives falling to 41 per cent from 45pc in the previous poll, conducted in the period May 22-26. Support for the opposition Labour Party rose by five points to 39pc.
