LAHORE, Sept 10: The chairman of his own faction of the All Parties Hurriat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, has said that a change is visible in the Pakistan’s stand on Kashmir and atmosphere is being created under international pressure to convert the line of control into border. Answering questions during a telephonic press conference at the Lahore Press Club here on Saturday, Mr Gilani said the developments like the lifting of restrictions on travel between the two parts of Kashmir were indicative of the change.
He said India had not positively responded to the proposals given by President Gen Pervez on Kashmir. The Kashmiris would not bow before any foreign pressure and expected the Pakistani leadership to do the same, he added.
He said the negotiations on Kashmir would not succeed as long as the Indian government continued declaring the area as its integral part. No headway was possible in the negotiations till India accepted it as a disputed territory and withdrew its forces. The Hurriyat Conference would also not agree to a solution to the issue within the Indian constitution.
He said the Kashmiris should be allowed to take a decision about their future in accordance with the UN resolutions and be facilitated in holding dialogue for the purpose.
