France’s coronavirus death toll rose by 81, or 0.3 per cent, to reach 29,021, Reuters reports.

The rate of increase has decreased compared to the previous day, when fatalities were up 0.4pc, and the number of people hospitalised for Covid-19 has continued its long-running decline, the French health ministry said in a statement.
