Pakistan's local transmission rate is 92pc, says SAPM Mirza
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health Dr Zafar Mirza has said that the country's local transmission rate for the coronavirus is 92 per cent.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, he said the infection rate was on the rise.
"Cases are increasing as the disease is spreading, so is the importance of following standard operating procedures (SOPs)."
He also said 78 deaths had been reported in the past 24 hours, which was the highest single-day tally for Pakistan since the outbreak.
