The European Union’s medicines agency has said that a vaccine for the coronavirus could be ready in year. The announcement comes just as US President Donald Trump launches into another tirade against China for its handling of the outbreak.

Medical firms and researchers around the world are trying to find a cure and a vaccine for Covid-19 that has so far infected over 4.3 million people and killed 294,000. World leaders past and present have insisted that any eventual vaccines and treatments should be made available to everyone free of charge.
