PPP Senator Rubina Khalid has said that more than 100 doctors at Peshawar's Lady Reading Hospital have been infected by the coronavirus because of "government negligence".

She said that frontline workers needed "weapons" to fight such as protective gear and questioned the government's strategy for doing so. "I have heard reports of doctors sharing and reusing PPEs. This is a potential disaster waiting to happen. Is this [government's] preparation?"

She also demanded that the government protect frontline workers on a priority basis and consider them national heroes.
