Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah warned that lockdown measures may once again be tightened if traders and the public continue to flout standard operating procedures (SOPs) meant to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
In a video message, he said: "I have received reports that nobody, including traders and the public, is observing the government's SOPs."
If the SOPs agreed between the government and traders are not observed, I will have no option but to withdraw the flexibility granted for the resumptions of day to day business activities, he said.
"[People] are not understanding the severity of the pandemic [...] we have to abide by the SOPs, our health system does not have the capacity to sustain the pressure of new cases," he warned.
