Senator Javed Abbasi has criticised the government for lifting the lockdown at a time when the virus was spreading at a faster rate.

While speaking in Senate, Abbasi said that the government started holding meetings when it was "already too late".

He expressed concern that the country's healthcare system would not be able to cope with an increasing number of cases.
