An assistant subinspector (ASI) in Karachi has passed away after being infected by the novel coronavirus. He was under treatment at the isolation ward of the Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital, according to a police spokesperson.

The 48-year-old ASI is the third police official in Karachi to succumb to the virus. So far, 150 policemen have been infected by the virus in Karachi, he added.
