Clinical psychologist Dr Asha Bedar says that many healthcare providers, including doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff, have dealt with mass emergencies before, nothing could have prepared them for this.
"Dealing with the constant flow of patients in critical condition and then death is eerily similar to a war-like situation, except this time there are no soldiers fighting the enemy, only doctors themselves, and that is an immense physical and psychological burden to carry."
