About 40 new cases have surfaced in Pakistan, according to the government's Covid-19 portal.

Out of the 40 cases, 21 have been confirmed in Islamabad, 14 in Gilgit Baltistan and 5 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

The national tally is now 22,263.
