President Arif Alvi has noted that developing countries are likely to suffer from "massive poverty and unemployment" in the wake of the coronavirus crisis.

In view of the pandemic's socioeconomic impact on developing countries, he said Prime Minister Imran Khan has called for a global initiative for debt relief which seeks to provide urgent relief for lower-income countries.

"Developing countries must be supported by fiscal space," he said while addressing an online summit of NAM leaders.
