Pakistan urges International Labour Organisation to address workers' issues
Pakistan has urged the International Labour Organisation to convene a virtual session of its member states to evolve a comprehensive strategy to address the issues being faced by labourers due to the pandemic.
According to a statement issued, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Sayed Zulfikar Abbas Bukhari forwarded the request to ILO Director General Guy Ryder.
In a letter, the PM's aide highlighted the issues being faced by workers in Pakistan and across the globe due to the coronavirus pandemic and underlined the need for initiating a global dialogue to help minimise the impact of Covid-19.
